21 months old!

Miss A is 21 months old. Where does the time go? She's now 23lbs, approx 31" tall, and just moved into size 18m clothes this week. Our petite little princess :)

Right now some of her favorite things are:
  • Grabbing her microphone & singing while strumming on daddy's guitar
  • Dancing and signing while daddy plays his guitar
  • Wearing dresses, jewelry, pretend make-up, and of course - a tiara.
  • Playing with her caterpillar, Buggie, and her Tinkerbelle
  • Playing tea party
  • Coloring! She loves to dump out the box of crayons and tell us the color of each one as she puts them back. Sometimes we even color on the paper.
  • Running and jumping! She finally figured out how to jump and get both feet off the ground.
  • Playing at the park with her cousins and riding her "Jesse Bike!" from uncle J :)
  • Building castles with her blocks and then quickly knocking it over
  • Playing with Miss K, her favorite babysitter
  • Eating pasta, bananas, peaches, yogurt, cheese, chicken nuggets and french fries. She's learning to use utensils and prefers to have an adult fork instead of a toddler fork.
  • Working on potty training. She tells us while she's in the process of going in her diaper. Which is an improvement over telling us after the fact. She goes in the toilet maybe 50% of the time. Over Memorial Day weekend we are going to try to really focus on this.
And for some things she does not like:
  • My mom. Still. Poor Nana :(
  • Our dog, Lucy. She likes to look at Lucy from a distance but not up close. Lucy is pretty big (over 100lbs) but she is very gentle with Aly. We are working on this. She does well with smaller dogs.
  • Crackers, sandwiches, or cauliflower
  • Juice. Or any drink besides milk or water.
  • Sharing. Ha!
She is talking in full sentences now. The other night there was a big thunderstorm. She got scared by the thunder and said "Mommy! What's that noise?" I took her to the front window to look out and showed her the lightening and then we would wait for the thunder to come after. When she figured out how to tell when the noise was coming she was less scared and said "Thank you, mommy. I had no idea." But my favorite is when she runs up and says "I love you too!!" when I say I love you to her. We talk to her frequently about the new baby but she still has no idea. She will figure it out soon enough :)
