Well, this month did not quite turn out like I had hoped it would. DH didn't get paid yet so no big hits to the debt this month outside of our normal minimums. Next month might be the same too - it all depends on when his closed cases are approved for payout (takes a few weeks to cycle through, and then it has to hit the pay cycle). Good news is that he has been super busy and we know the checks are coming eventually!
Right now, here's where we stand:
While it is not as much as I had hoped for, it is still great progress.
On CCs only, which is what we are actively "racing", we are getting close to crossing the next milestone of being below $20,000. I hope to post that we made it with the next paycheck.
If everything goes according to plan (which, let's be honest, it very well might not), we could possibly have another CC paid off in April depending on how DH gets paid. We could knock out the highest balance, which also has the highest interest and the highest monthly payments. That would free up $250/month in cash-flow and knock out another $7,000. Keeping my fingers & toes crossed for that one. Freeing up the cash-flow would do wonders for our tight budget as we could funnel that into paying our medical bills as they are already starting to roll in. Seems like the moment one thing gets paid off something pops in to take it's place.
Right now, here's where we stand:
Starting debt 2013: $62,300.13
Current debt 3/31/2013: $56,567.73
Total paid 2013: $5,732.40

That's got to be hard not knowing when your husband gets paid but It's great that you can pay all your bills on your salary and use his pay as a debt payoff. Wait until you are debt free and can start socking that away in savings!
