Our current debt total (well, excluding the mortgage) is $63,144.22. Using Vertex42's snowball calculator I discovered that we will be debt-free by December 2016 just on the minimum payments we are making!! Anything else we can scrape up will help us reach that goal even sooner.
After trying to pay off debt for the last 5 years, I can not believe the end is finally in sight. It has taken us three years to get to the point where we were not digging in deeper, but instead we are now paying off debts at a pretty good clip. We have been able to pay off just over $1,000 in principle each month this year, and almost $25,000 in debt over all.
We just might make it after all :)
